The Deering White Lotus is a lightweight resonator banjo that has much of the pop, projection and sustain of a banjo with a brass tone ring. Greg Deering has pulled this off by developing, and patenting, a rim from white oak, a dense, stiff wood that produces a sweet, bell-like tone. The neck and resonator are also crafted from white oak, which are accented with white binding. The ebony fingerboard and peghead overlay feature newly-designed lotus flower inspired inlays. It’s fitted with a two-piece Eagle-style flange. This example was built in 2023 and it’s in excellent, lightly played condition. The original hardshell case is in equally clean condition.
