Details
This GS Koa was built in 2006, the year Taylor added the Grand Symphony model to the standard line. It was also a period when they were using a different style of model name. Today, this guitar would be called a K16e. The koa used for the back and sides has the depth of figure we only see on Taylor’s most deluxe koa models these days.
Overall, this guitar is in fine structural condition. There's only very light fret wear, and except for a couple of dings to the top the surface condition is excellent. It's hard to see in the photos, but here is a clear pickguard, which has done a great job of protecting the top from scratches. This is a sweet sounding guitar, with a strong, focused bass response and nicely balanced trebles and mids. And even though this is a large guitar, the pinched-in waist makes it is surprisingly comfortable to play sitting down. Includes the original hardshell case.
