Details
Gibson's "Working Man" models were an effort to offer good-sounding solid woods versions of classic models, but at a lower price. They achieved the lower cost by cutting time-consuming details like stained mahogany and white binding, a glossy finish, and other details that take time but add nothing to the tone. But underneath the hood, the spruce top has the same scalloped X bracing as the J-45 model, and the mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are the same as well. This example is in remarkably good condition and shows almost no playing wear. After almost a quarter century of loafing, we hope the next owner puts it to work!
