Details
This is one of the nicest Martin Style 51 baritone ukes we've had in a long time, and judging by the sparse and very light strum marks to the top (and apparently from bare fingers, not fingernails!) it just never saw much use. Martin didn’t use serial numbers for their ukuleles in this period so there's no way to be certain about the year it was built. Martin didn't offer a baritone ukulele model until 1960 and this model has black Boltaron binding, so it was made after 1966 when the binding was switched from faux tortoiseshell. Judging by the color of the finish on this example, it was probably made around 1966 or 1967, the last years of expanded ukulele production. (Martin made 1425 ukuleles of all styles in 1967 and only 75 in 1968.) Includes a recent vintage hardshell case.
