The Kamaka Pineapple ukulele was invented by Sam Kamaka sometime before 1920 and patented in 1928 and has since gone on to become an iconic design in the ukulele world. The Pineapple’s unique, oval-shaped body produces a resonant, mellow sound distinct from its traditional figure-eight-shaped siblings.
Like all new Kamaka instruments, the HP-1 is impeccably crafted. The top, back and sides are nicely figured Hawaiian koa and they have a thin satin-sheen finish. This shows the koa grain and color to advantage and is yet another example of how the Kamaka crew keeps raising the bar and making their ukuleles even better. Includes a Kamaka hardshell case. It’s fitted with Gotoh UPT gears which make tuning a breeze. Includes a hardshell case.
