There's something about koa that brings out the best of Taylor's V-Class top bracing, or is it that V bracing brings out the best of a koa top? Whatever, it sure works well on this Grand Auditorium. There's the usual emphasis on the midrange you expect from koa, but the tone is smoother and warmer, without losing the treble clarity. The ES2 pickup handles any plugged-in needs. We haven't talked about beauty but you can judge that from the photos. This example has the kind of wood that would be a shame to hide in its case when you're not playing it.
