This early 16 Series Dreadnought should not be confused with Martin's later Style 16 models that featured hybrid X top bracing and a mortise & tenon neck joint. This D-16H from 1991 precedes those "Technology" models and is essentially a plainer, less retro version of what would become the D-18V. It has forward-shifted scalloped X bracing, diamonds & squares fingerboard inlays, and a herringbone rosette (hence the H in the model code).
