Details
Martin gave the highest model in their Standard Series a number of careful tweaks in 2018, giving it the same top bracing, finish, tuners, and pickguard previously reserved for the now-discontinued Vintage Series (D-45V). The result is a worthy modern-day flagship of the Martin Dreadnought line, a model that has been cradled by a widely diverse number of celebrity guitar players from Gene Autry to Jimi Hendrix. Although it's the pearl bordering and highly figured abalone hexagons on the neck that first catch your attention, the wood itself is equally impressive. Being a D-45, Martin uses most even-grained clear spruce and the most perfectly matched East Indian rosewood.
