Details
In honor of their 50th year in business, Taylor is introducing a series of Limited Edition models. For the 50th Anniversary Builder’s Edition 814ce LTD they took their flagship 814ce and added some very enticing features that make this good thing even better. First, the Sitka spruce top has been changed to sinker redwood, a switch that adds extra definition and clarity to the 814ce’s already rich timbre. It also has a beveled armrest, which greatly increases the playing comfort of your strumming arm.
Perhaps our favorite feature is the sculpted cutaway, which makes playing in the upper registers a breeze. It’s not only functional, it’s an elegant, and complex, feat of woodworking. Other refinements include a subtle adjustment in the taper of the body, chamfered edges, and Gotoh 510 tuners in antique gold, which offer a highly precise 21:1 gear ratio. The Limited Edition appointments include a gold-hued mother-of-pearl peghead logo and matching Element inlays, maple purfling around the fretboard and peghead, a green abalone rosette, and ebony bridge pins with gold acrylic dots. Finished with a Kona edgeburst and a full-body gloss, this all-purpose Grand Auditorium sports a commemorative 50th anniversary label.
