The OM-28 Modern Deluxe is an impressive mix of Old World craftsmanship and New Tech materials and building techniques. Modern features like the VTS (torrefied) spruce top and the carbon fiber composite bridge plate blend seamlessly with classic techniques like natural protein glue construction (hide glue) to produce impressive clarity with a nicely balanced bass to treble response. It’s fitted with open gear tuners, which keep the neck weight down. It has flamed European maple binding, a style that dates back to Martin’s earliest models in the 1830s. There are other nice touches, like the old-style script headstock logo but done in real pearl, and a slightly asymmetrical neck shape (your left hand is hardly symmetrical, after all!)
