Details
The white pickguard, "sonic dot" logo and black lacquer finish is from 1968, but thankfully the rest of this 60's J-45 reissue is based on the J-45 models Gibson made earlier in that decade, like in 1961/'62, and the crew in Montana have nailed both the tone and the feel of those iconic slope-shoulder Dreadnoughts. The combination of the short string scale, mahogany body, and light top bracing can also be found from boutique builders, but Gibson does it for a very reasonable price. This example is essentially new, with only the very lightest fret wear and nearly invisible surface wear to the finish (and that's saying something when the finish is gloss black!)
