Details
This 000-28 is from 2019, so it's an early version of Martin's just-introduced Modern Deluxe . Hasn't seen much use yet, judging by the lack of fret wear, but already sounds great. In case you haven't played one, the combination of the torrefied (VTS) soundboard and carbon fiber bridge plate really does give it a different tone than a typical 000-28 reissue. "More sparkle" in the overtones is probably the simplest summary of what we hear. There are a couple of small marks to the finish, and light finger scuffs to the pickguard. Looks like the original owner played it while wearing some kind of long sleeve shirt dyed with a color that reacted a bit with the lacquer, you can see a faint shadow where the player's right arm goes over the top. This only shows up at certain angles, but one of our photos shows it . As the top darkens with time from exposure to UV this will become less noticeable.
