Details
This A-5 Player was made by Pava Knezevi in the Tom Ellis workshop in Austin,Texas. It’s a cosmetically plainer version of her standard models, but all of the woods are A-list throughout. And while this mandolin has less binding on the neck and headstock it still has the great tone and playability we have come to expect from Pava’s mandolins. The top is carved Adirondack spruce and the back and sides are figured maple, and the ebony fingerboard has a nice radius. This mandolin is in excellent cosmetic and structural condition. The frets show some minor wear but they have lots of life left in them. There are some signs of this A5 having been played, namely minor pick and finger marks to the lacquer below the high E strings. String action is quite low, if you play with a fairly heavy right hand you'll probably want the bridge saddle raised a bit. This Pava is a great sounding and playing mandolin for the price, and from a solo builder with lots of experience. Includes a hardshell case.
