Details
A dozen years-old Collings workhorse, this D1 now plays like new thanks to a partial refret by Gryphon's Repair Dept. The Trance Audio Amulet pickup system gives incredibly realistic amplified tone when you need to plug in but don't want the first chord you strum to yell "acoustic with a pickup!!"
There's a fair amount of playing wear to the top, mostly an assortment of dings that suggest an errant strap buckle, perhaps? There's been repair, done here, to a crack in the lower side, you'll find it if you look really closely. The thin dark stripe that goes around the middle of both sides, however, is not a crack, just a darker line in the mahogany itself.
A great sounding Collings, and a mahogany Dreadnought that works equally well plugged in or just played acoustically. Lots of headroom, can deliver sparkle or crunch tones when requested (by your right hand).
