Details
This Weber F-5 Fern was crafted in Logan, Montana in 2004 and it’s in excellent structural and cosmetic condition with only the lightest possible fret wear. It has a label signed by Bruce Weber, the company’s founder. This mandolin has a contoured ebony pickguard and carefully shaped and suspended armrest, the kind of thoughtful details that make you wish more builders went to similar effort. The fretboard is radiused. The only issue we can find is a little crack in the heel cap right across the joint where the neck joins the body. We suspect it happened when the neck was glued in, and telegraphed through the lacquer later. The rest of the neck joint is tight and hasn't budged so nothing is loose. Includes the original hardshell case.
