Details
Santa Cruz Guitar Co. made 15 of these special 13-fret H models, and the Limited Edition sold out almost immediately. Check photo 9 for the special label, noting that this is #6 of the 15. The late Paul Hostetter, who was responsible for SCGC building these deep-bodied 00 size models, also signed the label. Inspired by the Nick Lucas models made by Gibson, it's not only the deep body that makes these special, as they also have 13 frets clear of the body. Thanks to the deep sides, the tone is remarkably warm and open while still maintaining the intimate tone of a relatively small guitar (especially by Dreadnought and Jumbo standards). This example has some light fret wear but the clear pickguard did an excellent job of protecting the top. Aside from a few scuffs to the finish here and there it's almost mint, with straight neck, low string action, and an excellent neck angle. This is from before SCGC was using Ameritage cases, the TKL shown is the original case for this guitar.
