Details
Gibson had some great Brazilian rosewood around this time and this is clearly an excellent straight-grain set. It shows only very slight signs of use, the frets have almost zero wear. Aside from the rosewood Gibson wisely kept the upgrades to a minimum, in this case gold tuners, an ebony fingerboard and bridge, plus the classic pearl "crown" peghead inlay. How does it sound? Imagine that classic J-45 "whump" and add the overtones of Brazilian, all in the highly playable short-scale package. A Fishman Matrix pickup has been installed, should you need to plug in. There's been an excellent repair of a crack in the treble side upper bout, which because of the way it was repaired was probably done by Gibson. You can see the crack in photo 10, and that photo makes it look more obvious than it does in normal lighting. Original Gibson Custom Shop case.
