Details
Taylor was using Engelmann spruce on their 700 Series models during this period, and for the Grand Concert size 12 models you really notice the difference. Engelmann is lighter and more transparent than Sitka spruce, so this 712 has immediate response to even the lightest touch, like what you expect from a cedar top. Almost no wear, very slight fret wear, a very warm sounding Taylor that's ideal for a vocalist or someone backing a singer. Of course these guitars have excellent balance between bass and treble and plenty of volume, making them suitable for just about any kind of music normally played on steel string acoustic guitars. Original Taylor case.
