Details
This 40-plus years old Gibson reissue is a vintage guitar in its own right, as it's as old as an original '58 flame top Les Paul was back in 1998! Gibson only made these "Heritage Series Standard --80 Elite" models for 3 years, and this has the number "1431" stamped in the middle of the back of the headstock. It's a remarkably accurate reissue for that early, with narrow binding in the cutaway, for instance, and the curly quilted top is especially nice with great color. Parts and finish are original throughout, with original frets. Note the buckle wear to the finish on the back, and that the nickel-plated metal parts have plenty of tarnish. Fingerboard binding has the usual cracks below the frets, see photos.
