Details
This Fender Telecaster was built in 1978 and is in excellent structural condition. The finish is in good shape apart from one deep gouge on the point of the cutaway. The body is ash and you can see some nice figure in the lighter part of the sunburst. The tuning machines, bridge and bridge pickup are original. The original neck pickup is long gone but it has been replaced with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound. A previous owner pulled the cover off of the neck pickup, which is a fairly common mod. (Some players feel it mellows the tone out; some say it brightens the tone; and others just think it looks cool.)
It has new pots and the three-way switch has been replaced with four-way switch and new wiring that lets you run the two pickups in series or parallel. (In series mode, the two pickups works as a humbucker and the tone is much beefier.) This is not a light guitar and it weighs in at 9.44 lbs. On the other hand, it sounds great and has a sweeter, mellower tone than we usually hear in a Tele. Include the original case.
