Details
We don't get these internal resonator, or "donut shell" Bacons very often, and this is one of the nicest we've seen in a long while. The tone is rich and resonant, and made all the better thanks to a real skin head and 11 5/8" head diameter. Neck is quite straight (only the slightest relief), frets are good, and there's a nice set of planetary tuners as well. The tailpiece is a reproduction, looks like the tension hoop and tone ring were probably replated as the plating just looks too perfect for a 100 years-old banjo. If you like vintage open-back banjos that don't sound like all the other open-back banjos out there, this Bacon deserves consideration.
