Details
The HF-3 2D is Kamaka’s fanciest model and, as you can see, they reserve their finest figured koa for this ukulele. The top and soundhole are bound in abalone and it has a full gloss finish, which shows the koa grain and color to advantage. It’s fitted with Schaller tuning machines, which make tuning a breeze. This tenor ukulele has a rich, robust tone with a well-balanced bass to treble response. In short, HF-3 2D sounds as good as it looks.
The tenor size is our best-selling Kamaka ukulele, hands down. We think this model's versatility is part of the reason. Many players use the traditional high G, "my dog has fleas" tuning, which produces the traditional ukulele chime, particularly when strumming. But lately, more players are using a low G string, swapping the high tuned fourth string for one an locate lower. This makes it easier to play single note lead lines and complex fingerstyle patterns, particularly for guitarists. Includes a Kamaka hardshell case.
