Details
We're big fans of this design, regardless of the woods used. The 12-fret layout puts the bridge closer to the center of the soundboard, the "sweet spot" classical guitar makers have relied upon since the mid-1800s. The short scale makes this Taylor remarkably easy to play, and since the fingerboard is closer to the player's body your left elbow is more bent and you have more control over your left hand. Visually, your left hand is right there in front of you instead of being off in left field. And of course the cutaway makes those upper frets more accessible .
This 712-ce is constructed with a V-braced Lutz spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides, a combination that yields a very consistent tonal balance and great sustain. Whether backing a vocalist singing straightforward folk songs or playing complex chord voicing solos, this 712-ce will lend great tone to your playing.
This example is 5 years old but except for a hard-to-see inch long finish scratch just below the bridge, it's in nearly as-new condition.
