In 1990, Gibson introduced an ebony fingerboard with trapezoid inlays to the model, adding an elegant touch to its sleek, no-frills design. The 490R/498T pickup combination delivers the quintessential Gibson humbucker tone—powerful, dynamic, and full of character. This guitar is all original, including its factory gold hardware. Structurally, it's in great shape for its age. There is some finish checking near the volume and tone knobs, along with light playwear, but overall, it remains impressively clean.
