This is the 2024 version of the Santa Cruz OM that was first introduced back in the mid-1980s. SCGC was one of the few builders to focus on a historical model that was already legendary but which was ironically largely ignored during the "Dreadnought days,", except for a few hard-to-find exceptions. Santa Cruz changed that, as their OM was an instant favorite with finger style players and others who knew you didn't need a D or a Jumbo to get plenty of volume, and the slimmer, tuck-under-your-arm body shape was a far more comfortable guitar to hold. Now, of course, OM models are offered by most guitar makers, yet the Santa Cruz OM still holds its own with remarkable tonal balance and playability. This example is, in our opinion, Santa Cruz at their best, and exhibits a level of fit and finish to rival any acoustic guitar out there, regardless of price.
