Details
This Recording King M7 Special banjo was built in 2014 and it was part of the short-lived USA Series. The series was a project headed by Greg Rich to craft instruments that were built here in the US using materials and techniques that replicated the classic banjos of the 1930s. This particular banjo was the first M7 built and it is gold plated with engraving on the tension hoop and flange. The head features Greg Rich’s signature. This M7 is in excellent, nearly unplayed condition. The M7 has a Honduran mahogany resonator and a one-piece neck with a 2-way adjustable truss rod. The rosewood fretboard has a mother-of-pearl Diamond & Square inlay pattern and the rim is crafted from three plies of maple. It’s fitted with 20-hole bell brass flathead tone ring and a one-piece prewar-style pot metal flange. It has a hand-rubbed nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The original hardshell case is in equally clean condition.
