Details
The 214ce is the cosmetically plainest of Taylor’s 200 Series Grand Auditoriums, but it sure doesn’t skimp on tone or playability. It has a satin finish, simple binding and almost no ornamentation, but it has the same playable neck found on Taylor’s more expensive models. This guitar has a torrefied Sitka spruce top and layered walnut for the back and sides, a combination that delivers a rich, nuanced tone with a well-balanced bass to treble response. It features C-class bracing, which has an asymmetrical and cantilevered pattern that boosts volume and sustain while taming the boomy bass that can sometimes overwhelm the trebles on guitars this size. It’s fitted with Taylor’s own ES-2 Expressions System pickup and includes a well padded gig bag.
