Details
The H13 is one of the Santa Cruz Guitar Company’s oldest models and it’s a cult favorite among some very accomplished players. (The H stands for Paul Hostetter, a local artist and musician who commissioned the first H13 in 1978.) The combination of the small but deep body with the 25.375” scale length produces a rich, full tone with an astonishing amount of projection. The extra-deep body combine to give it a velvety quality, rich in overtones with a full midrange and a resonant bass that belies its small size. This is an instrument that doesn't require much force to reach its optimal resonance. Bottom line: it's easy to play. For expressive fingerpicking arrangements it's a dream come true. It balances well when you're holding it and the 1 3/4" neck allows for complex fingerings. A beautifully designed instrument from one of the finest builders around.
