Northfield’s Artist Series mandolins are made from the finest tonewoods and are built with meticulous attention to detail. This particular example has a carved Adirondack spruce top, a varnish finish and Northfields’s 2-bar bracing system, a classic configuration that produces a strong fundamental with a focused, sparkling upper register. The Artist Series mandolins were developed with extensive input from Mike Marshall, and are produced in limited numbers. The finish is spirit varnish which is softer and more flexible than nitrocellulose lacquer. Playability is enhanced with a fully radiused fretboard. Includes Northfield’s Airloom Tūra DLX hardshell case.
