While it doesn't have the Ivoroid binding of a typical Lloyd Loar reissue, this Altman F-5 has the sound and feel of what has become the definition of an F-model bluegrass mandolin. Easy to play and impressive tone and overall response without bashing on it. Everything points to the Altman crew having done their homework.
