Details
This left-handed Gibson Les Paul Custom was built in 1979 and from the number of nicks, dings and scuffs, it looks like it spent more time on stage and in jam sessions than in its case. This was a musical tool and was treated as such. Happily, the previous owner was content to play this guitar and not monkey with it so it still has all of its original parts, including the Patent Number humbuckers, which are stamped 1979. The frets are low in the "fretless wonder" style of earlier Les Paul Customs and they do show wear.
When Gibson reintroduced the Les Paul Custom in 1968, they opted to build it with a maple top and a mahogany back, unlike its 1950s predecessors which had a solid mahogany body and mahogany top. This 1979 example has a maple top under the black finish. We almost never see used left-handed Les Pauls, and this is a rare opportunity. Includes the original hardshell case.
