Details
We don’t get many used Waldman banjos even though we sell quite a few new ones. (It turns out people just don’t want to let them go.) This model is called the Wood-O-Phone and it was made in 2021. Chuck Waldman built the neck and shell from cherry, a tone wood he uses regularly. It’s in excellent structural and cosmetic condition and shows light signs of having been played. It features an 11-inch rim with a wooden Tubaphone-style tone ring. Like its metal counterpart, the Wood-O-Phone has a hollow chamber that rests under the head that helps focus the tone giving this banjo a crisp, yet woody tone. Like all of Waldman’s instruments, it’s impeccably crafted. Includes a padded gig bag.
