Details
For the tenor banjo player who loves B & D Silver Bells this No. 3 has it all. Original Soft-Pedal knee-mute in good working order? Check. Almost all its original parts including Oettinger tailpiece and Planet pegs with mother-of-pearl buttons? Check. Straight neck? You bet. The only thing was can see that has been changed is the original armrest, which has been swapped for one in the Gibson style. The hook and nut set all match and appear to be original.
This is a high-grade Silver Bell that has seen some use over the decades, but it has not, thankfully, gone through the over-glossy restoration these old-timers have sometimes been subjected to. The finish on the neck and resonator has very little wear and the gold plating it in excellent condition. In anime tough, even the metal parts inside the shall that you can’t usually see, are gold plated. The hardshell case was made in the 1970s, has wear to the covering as shown.
