Details
We've often wondered why more American guitar and banjo makers don't use white oak, as it's a great domestic hardwood that makes a stiff and sturdy neck. Deering also uses white oak for the shell of this banjo, with wood this hard the tapered top edge makes a metal tone ring unnecessary and the result is a nice woody tone.
