We're big fans of Taylor Grand Pacific models with their slope-shouldered dreadnought silhouette. They have a warm, rounded timbre and a clear low-end power that is well suited to just about any style. This Builder’s Edition 517e is crafted in Taylor's El Cajon, California, facility with mahogany back and sides and a torrefied Sitka spruce top with Wild Honey Burst sunburst. This tonewood combination produces a guitar that balances projection and clarity with mellow warmth in the low end.
This model has Builder's Edition features like chamfered edges, a compound-carve neck profile and a Silent Satin finish to reduce incidental noise. This guitar has Taylor's V-Class top bracing, which offers more headroom than even the strongest player will probably need and yet it still responds to a light touch.
