Details
Taylor’s 314ce-N is an excellent "crossover" nylon string cutaway guitar that has the mellow, round tone of a classical guitar but with some features that will appeal to steel string players. Unlike most nylon string guitars, the 314ce-N has a 14-fret neck that, when combined with the cutaway, allows easy access to the highest frets. The nut measures 1 ⅞” and the fretboard has a 20” radius, two features that help make this guitar feel familiar to players used to models like Dreadnoughts, Orchestra Models or Grand Auditoriums.
This model has solid sapele back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, a tonewood combination that produces a balanced bass to treble response. The 314ce-N is fitted with Taylor's own ES-N pickup and includes a hardshell case. This crossover guitar will appeal to classical guitarists looking for a nylon string instrument that is well suited to jazz and other contemporary styles as well as steel string players looking to experiment with the rounder, more romantic sound of a classical guitar.
