Details
The Northfield EleOcto is a lightweight electric octave mandolin that may look like it’s a solid body, but it is in fact chambered and has an Adirondack spruce top and nicely figured maple sides and back. This keeps the weight down and gives the instrument a warmer, rounder tone when amplified. This variation of the EleOcto is fitted with a magnetic Seymour Duncan Apollo II bass pickup. This humbucking pickup has a clear tone and the eight individual pole pieces produce a nice balance of bass to treble response. It has a 22-inch scale length, which makes this an easier transition to mandolin tuning for guitar players. The EleOcto gives mandolin players an entry into the wide world of effects pedals and other tone shaping electronic devices. Hey, why should electric guitar players get to have all the fun?
