Martin's T1K has been one of Gryphon's best-selling tenor ukuleles since it was introduced. The TKE is the newest version of this classic ukulele and it offers some nice upgrades. The most noticeable is the addition of a full-body gloss finish that makes the figure in the solid koa top, back and sides really pop. It’s fitted with a rechargeable Mi-Si pickup, which provides 16 hours of play on a 60-second charge. The TKE also features an East Indian rosewood bridge and fingerboard, select hardwood neck, applied dovetail neck joint, and nickel open gear tuners.
We sell a lot of tenor ukuleles here at Gryphon. We think this model's versatility is part of the reason. They sound great with the traditional "my dog has fleas" tuning but it also works well with the Low G tuning, as well. Thanks to the longer scale, the frets on a tenor uke are a little further apart, so complex chords are easier to finger as there's more room, making tenor uke the most popular switch for guitar players. It's simple, if you play any fretted instrument, or if you're just starting to, you'll find a use for a fine-sounding tenor like this one. Includes a well-padded gig bag.
