Details
Martin's all-koa T1K has been one of Gryphon's best-selling tenor ukuleles since it was introduced but the all-mahogany T1 StreetMaster is quickly becoming a Gryphon favorite. To our ears, the mahogany gives this ukulele a little mellower, rounder tone than koa. The satin finish is very thin and the color on the top partially rubbed off to simulate wear but there are no added nicks, dings or scratches. The geared Ratio tuning pegs make tuning a breeze.
We sell a lot of tenor ukuleles here at Gryphon. We think this model's versatility is part of the reason. They sound great with the traditional "my dog has fleas" tuning but it also works well with the Low G tuning, as well. Thanks to the longer scale, the frets on a tenor uke are a little further apart, so complex chords are easier to finger as there's more room, making tenor uke the most popular switch for guitar players. It's simple, if you play any fretted instrument, or if you're just starting to, you'll find a use for a fine-sounding tenor like this one. Includes a well-padded gig bag.
