Details
The Martin D-18 may not be the flashiest looking guitar out there but its subtle appointments and timeless tone have made it one of the most popular models we carry. The genuine mahogany and Sitka spruce combine to give a well-balanced timbre with a strong, focused bass and clear, ringing trebles. It has vintage details like open-geared tuners, tortoiseshell-colored binding and pickguard but the neck has a modern, low profile feel. The fretboard and bridge are made from ebony and the braces are the classic forward shifted, scalloped X-pattern that Martin was using in the 1930s. This version features a satin finish with an Amberburst sunburst. Satin finishes are almost always thinner than a full gloss, and many players feel that lightness gives the guitar a bit of extra oomph. Includes a hardshell case.
