Details
The Baritone is the largest member of the ukulele family, and Kamaka’s HF-4 is one of the finest examples currently being made. We special ordered this HF-4 Deluxe with a spruce top, which gives the overall timbre a more focused bass and brighter trebles. As with other Deluxe Kamakas, this baritone has colorful rope-pattern wood purfling around the top and soundhole, a style that recalls the higher-end ukuleles during the golden age of Hawaiian ukuleles in the 1920s.
Baritone ukuleles are tuned DGBE, the same pitches as the top four strings of the guitar. Consequently, it produces the most guitar-like tone and many players think of it as a four string guitar rather than as a big ukulele. The HF-4 Deluxe has a thin satin-sheen finish. This shows the koa grain and color in the back and sides to advantage and is yet another example of how the Kamaka crew keeps raising the bar and making their ukuleles even better. Includes a Kamaka hardshell case.
