Like all of Eastman’s F-style mandolins, the MD615 has a solid, hand carved spruce top with solid, hand carved maple back. It has a gloss Truetone finish in their reddish Classic finish. It has ivoroid binding on the top, back neck and headstock and it’s fitted with a K&K Duotone pickup. The ebony fretboard is inlaid with pearl blocks and has a radius. The MD615 has the percussive bark that bluegrass demands when you dig in hard, but if you back off a bit, it works well for Celtic styles, old-time string band music, jazz and just about any style you can think of. Includes a hardshell case.
