Details
The Eastman MD515-BK-LTD is a limited edition mandolin that features a solid, hand carved Adirondack spruce top. The back is solid, hand carved maple. It has a gloss Truetone finish on the top with a black finish, a cosmetic flourish that dates back to the 1890s and the first mandolins that Orville Gibson built. The back, sides and neck have satin finish. It has ivoroid binding on the top and neck. The ebony fretboard is inlaid with pearl dots and it has a radius. The MD515-BK-LTD has the percussive bark that bluegrass demands when you dig in hard, but if you back off a bit, it works well for Celtic styles, old-time string band music, jazz and just about any style you can think of. Includes a hardshell case.
