The 5-string Deering Goodtime is our most popular banjo and an excellent value for a beginning or intermediate picker looking to get into the banjo world. This variation features a 19-fret tenor neck, which is well suited to playing Irish music or Dixieland jazz. Like its 5-string sibling, it features a 3-ply maple rim that produces a clear, ringing tone. The blonde maple fingerboard features classic hardwood Artisan-style inlays, while the peghead features a beautiful cherry veneer. The Goodtime tailpiece is Deering’s own design and the tension hoop is rolled in-house from raw metal.
