Details
The clarity and balance of a Collings mahogany OM has been the bedrock of the model's reputation since Bill Collings first offered his 1 Series instruments back in the 1980s. This example offers that same winning combination but with the added advantage of giving the player greater access to the upper frets. The top has very tight grain with remarkably even spacing across its entire width, suggesting that this top came from a very large tree, even for a Sitka spruce. The result is lots of sparkling trebles, and the cutaway gives you more sparkle from those high notes without having to reach over the top to find them.
