Details
This Style O National was purchased from Gryphon back in the mid-1970s and it's been living nearby ever since. The neck had been replaced back in the day but it wasn't given an adjustable truss rod, so while it plays OK in first position the amount of neck relief makes it a "bottle-neck" special as you go up the fingerboard. Note the puncture in the top near the tailpiece and the significant fold in the upper edge, about where an arm bevel would be. Stencil on the back is in great shape except for a small pattern of scratches near the center of the palm tree motif. Tailpiece is a newer replacement. Comes in a very nice newer hardshell case that's a good fit. Great tone and of course plenty of volume, yes it's a biscuit-cone National but the tone is more a mellow howl than the usual metallic bark.
