Details
This is a different-sounding Collings OM, but we can't say we know exactly why. Is it the Cocobolo? or the German spruce? We're guessing it's the combination, as Cocobolo is very dense (much more dense than rosewood) while German spruce is far lighter and more transparent than Sitka or Adirondack spruce. As a result, this OM has a warmer bottom end than most Collings OM models, and a sweeter treble response with a less metallic, or "zingy" tone to the unwound strings. It's in nearly as-new condition, and a great fingerstyle OM for those who find some Collings versions of that model just a bit too edgy tonally.
