Elegant in its utter simplicity the ES-339 is a no-nonsense interpretation of a classic Gibson semi-hollow design. But behind the simplicity of the two knob, 2 pickup configuration, there is a whole host of various tones available in this petite package. The ’57 Classic neck pickup delivers a warm deep tone while the slightly hotter Super ’57 bridge pick up packs more of a cutting punch.
While this instrument is in all together good cosmetic standing there are a few instances of wear to disclose. There is a circular blemish around the rear strap button that was mostly likely caused by a plastic strap lock, and a few stray dings located around the back/sides of the guitar. There are also sporadic instances of tiny scratching located throughout the instrument. The frets are in good condition and while they are showing the initial instances of play wear, they have plenty of life left in them.
