Most North Americans aren't aware that bluegrass is very popular in the Czech Republic, and there are some highly regarded builders of banjos and mandolin-family instruments in that country. Rosta Capek is one of the A-list Czech builders, and has 40 years of experience. Rosta is also a player, and hosts concerts and music camps to foster new talent.
This F-5 Professional is from 2007 and while the light fret wear tells us it's seen a fair number of playing hours, the owner must have been an extremely careful picker as there's almost no surface wear, including to the top, despite the lack of a pickguard. Thanks to a light build and thin finish, this F-5 is highly responsive even when played with a light touch. The K & K Mandolin Twin pickup covers those times when you need to plug in.
