Details
Taylor built this striking custom 615ce jumbo guitar in late 2002 for display at the 2003 Winter NAMM Show. It is very similar to the Rick Neilsen Signature Model (RNSM) that was introduced that year. Like the RNSM, it has the “exploding checkerboard” fretboard inlay, big leaf maple maple back and sides, sitka spruce top and abalone soundhole rosette. Unlike the RNSM, this guitar is black rather than bright green and does not have a signed label. This example was used by a gigging musician and it shows the signs of use (scuffs and scratches) but no real abuse. It was refretted not too long ago and it had a Taylor ES-2 pickup installed at the factory. There is one deep scratch on the top at the waist on the treble side that looks like it has had finish added that is hard to see but you can feel it. This guitar includes the original hardshell case.
